Terms of Service

Last updated: September 10, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of www.friendlyhandyman.pro (the "Site") and the services provided by Friendly Handyman ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Site or requesting a service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who We Are

Friendly Handyman provides home repair, renovation, painting, cleanup, EV charger installation, and related handyman services in Wheaton and surrounding areas.

Most U.S. states don't require a general license for basic handyman work, but specialty trades (electrical, plumbing, and anything requiring a permit) are performed by, or coordinated with, a licensed professional as required by state law. We carry general liability insurance.

2. Estimates and Quotes

Estimates requested through the Site are free and non-binding. They're based on the information and photos you provide and may change once we assess the job in person. We'll always confirm final pricing with you before starting work — we won't proceed on a job at a price you haven't agreed to.

3. Scheduling

Appointment times are estimates, not guarantees — delays can happen due to weather, prior jobs running long, or parts availability. We'll communicate promptly if a scheduled time needs to shift.

4. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing (larger projects may follow a milestone schedule instead — this will be spelled out in your estimate).
  • We accept cash, personal check, and all major credit cards.
  • Larger projects may require a deposit before work begins; this will be specified in your project estimate.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations with less notice may be subject to a trip fee.

6. Change Orders

If the scope of a job changes once work is underway (for example, a wall opens up and reveals additional repairs needed), we'll pause, explain the issue, and get your approval — verbal or written — before doing any additional work or billing for it.

7. Workmanship Warranty

We stand behind our work. Labor is warrantied for 12 months from the completion date against defects in workmanship. Materials and products we install (e.g., EV chargers, fixtures) are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, not ours. This warranty doesn't cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse, other contractors, or acts of nature
  • Pre-existing conditions not part of the original job

8. Your Responsibilities as the Customer

To help us do the job right, you agree to:

  • Provide reasonable access to the property and work area
  • Disclose any known hazards (structural, electrical, pest, mold, etc.) before work begins
  • Secure pets and move valuables/fragile items away from the work area
  • Obtain any permits that are your responsibility as the homeowner, where applicable, unless we've agreed in writing to handle permitting for a specific job

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Friendly Handyman is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services or use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim related to a specific job is limited to the amount paid for that job. Nothing in this section limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law, or any protection provided by our insurance for covered incidents.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold Friendly Handyman harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Site or inaccurate information you provide about a project (for example, undisclosed hazards that lead to damage or injury).

11. Insurance

Friendly Handyman carries general liability insurance. Certificates of insurance are available on request.

12. Website Use and Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — text, images, logos, and design — belongs to Friendly Handyman or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage or disable it.

13. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party sites (reviews, social media, etc.). We aren't responsible for their content or practices.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which the business operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located where the business operates.

15. Force Majeure

We're not responsible for delays or failures to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, supply shortages, or other emergencies.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the Site or our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
